Ian Brickell

"When I made the decision to leave my secure job at the BNZ in Wellington, it was said to me: 'It seems you would rather face the glorious uncertainty of life than live a planned existence.' Never in my wildest dreams could I have envisaged what lay ahead."

During his long and colourful life, Ian Brickell farmed the 563 rugged but beautiful hectares of TeWaeWae Station on the edge of the Urewera Ranges, before forming a trust to carry on that unique work.

This is his fascinating memoir.
