Product Overview Introducing the magnificent "Evangelium" Paschal Candle, a tribute to the four canonical Gospels. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John: early Christian art has long depicted these four writers of the canonical Gospels as the four "living creatures" that surround God's throne. A centuries old tradition, Matthew has been depicted as Human, Mark as Lion, Luke as Ox, and John as Eagle. The Evangelium represents these Evangelists in hand-cast, bronze toned wax ornaments trimmed with 24 carat gold leaf that are inlaid beneath the surface of the 51% Beeswax Paschal candle.
